• What will happen to my existing booking?

  All tours booked that are due to depart BEFORE June 30th, 2024 will go ahead as scheduled. Your travel plans will not be affected, and you can look forward to your upcoming adventure with confidence.

  All tours booked that are due to depart AFTER June 30th, 2024 are rescheduled. Customers may choose to cancel their reservation, select the new departure date or transfer to an alternative tour. 

  The team is reaching our individually to all booked customers over the coming days. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further information or support.

• What travel options are available and can I still book?

  Yes there’s still time to book. There are no changes to our regular services and holiday program before June 30th. A list of all available group holiday options is available to view on our website. Hurry – as places are limited.  

• Can I be certain my deposit is safe?

  Yes! Discovery Holidays is a registered travel agent and holds forward deposits in a Customer Trust Account. Funds are not distributed until ticketing has commenced and/or the service is complete. 

   

• Will there be fees charged if I cancel?

  Generally there are no cancellation fees that apply to reservations cancelled with more than 72 hours notice, except where pre-purchased transport and accommodation booking are held.  

  STANDARD CANCELLATION FEES
  a. Guest Support Services (Support Only)
      1. Notification greater than 24 hours prior to departure:
  Payments are fully transferable as Future Holiday Credit
      2. Notification greater than 72 hours prior to departure:
  Payments are fully transferable as Future Holiday Credit
  AND 100% refundable.
  b. Travel Services (Travel, Accommodation)
      1. where no substitute Guest Booking is found Refund
  amounts and cancellation fees will be in accordance
  with the Terms and Conditions of individual
  accommodation, transport and activity suppliers for the
  specified itinerary.
      2. where a substitute Guest Booking is received refund
  amounts will be made in full less any name change or
  reservation change costs that apply.

• What happens to my customers records?

  All records and data relating to individual service users will be managed in accordance with Federal and State Privacy legislation, the company policy and kept for the appropriate periods for tax and record management purposes.  

  Club Members will be given digital access to personal data, photo albums and records before June 30 closure date.

   

• How will I go on group holidays after June 30th?

  Our aim is connect our customers with options that provide similar group getaway services. The team is preparing referral options for members to ensure there is access to alternative  group getaways and respite services after June 30th. (Providers who would like to consider referral from our customers are encouraged to express their interest via our admin team : admin@discoveryholidays.com.au )

  Note: Additionally The board also continues to seek expressions of interest from prospective buyers and other providers.

• Why are you closing down?

  It has been a difficult and regrettable decision for the Board, but inevitable in the face of ongoing sector challenges and spiraling supply costs: despite strong forward bookings, great customer satisfaction and high demand, we are experiencing unprecedented inflation in the tourism sector, as well as widespread supply shortages for accommodation and transport.

  Together with the ongoing compliance and operating costs of being a small NDIS registered and quality accredited business, we also co-exist alongside a growing number of  private unregistered providers, able to operate without Award wage responsibilities and significantly lower overhead expenses.

  Unfortunately the combined market conditions mean its time to wind up the program while we still have the chance to celebrate and enjoy 4 more months of travel fun.
